WE FOUND OUT THEY WERE HAVING THE " LONGEST CAUSEWAY RUN &
FITNESS WALK" ON JANUARY 12, WHICH WE THOUGHT WOULD BE FUN!!
A THREE MILE WALK ON THE CAUSEWAY THAT CONNECTS PORT ISABEL AND SOUTH PADRE ISLAND. WE FELT LUCKY TO BE HERE AT THIS TIME, THE ONLY TIME YOU CAN WALK THE CAUSEWAY. SO WE SIGNED UP FOR IT AND HOPED THE WEATHER WOULD IMPROVE. IT DIDN'T UNTIL THE MORNING OF THE WALK....IT WASN'T TOO BAD, STILL CLOUDY AND WINDY, BUT AT LEAST NO RAIN.
THERE WERE ALOT OF PEOPLE!!! THOUSANDS!!
WE WERE REALLY GLAD WE DID IT!!
GOOD EXERCISE!! AND AT LEAST WE GOT OUR OF THE RV FOR A WHILE.
WE FINALLY GOT TO GO TO THE BEACH. IT WAS STILL PRETTY COOL AND WINDY, BUT NOT RAINING!
THE BEACH WAS DESERTED!!
I JOINED A ZUMBA GOLD CLASS AT PORT ISABEL AND FOUND OUT THAT I LOVE ZUMBA!! WE MET UP WITH PAUL AND NANCY, FRIENDS WE MET AT ADVENTURELAND THIS SUMMER. WE WENT TO THE BEACH, AS OFTEN AS WE COULD, AND ALSO ENJOYED THE HOT TUB AT THE KOA. WE BOUGHT FRESH VEGETABLES AND PRODUCE TWICE A WEEK AT THEIR FARMER'S MARKETS. WE SPENT THE TIME JUST GENERALLY RELAXING.
THERE PROBABLY WEREN'T FIVE DAYS IN A ROW THAT WERE NICE WEATHER, BUT ONE OF THOSE FIVE DAYS WE WENT TO THE BEACH AND TOOK MAGGIE AND MARLEE, THEY HAD A GREAT TIME, PLAYED BALL WITH THEM ON THE BEACH!
ONE EVENING DARRELL AND I WENT TO THE BEACH BY OURSELVES, SET UP OUR LAWN CHAIRS AND WATCHED THE SUNSET........IT WAS GORGEOUS!!!
THIS LOOKED LIKE A PAINTING, THE SKY WAS SO PINK!!!
WE ENJOYED THE KITES ON PADRE EVERY WEEKEND!!
ONE DAY WE BOUGHT FRESH SHRIMP AND I PEELED AND DEVEINED SHRIMP!!
I BOUGHT THIS "SPECIAL TOOL", WHICH MADE THE JOB EASY, BUT STILL KIND OF ICKY!!
I MADE SHRIMP SKAMPI. IT WAS DELICIOUS!!
PORT ISABEL IS FAMOUS FOR IT'S LIGHTHOUSE,
OF COURSE WE HAD TO WALK TO THE TOP....THE VIEWS WERE AMAZING!!
YOU COULD REALLY SEE THE CAUSEWAY THAT CONNECTS PORT ISABEL WITH SOUTH PADRE, THIS IS THE ONE WE WALKED.
AND BEHIND DARRELL PORT ISABEL.
THIS WAS ONE OF THE NICER DAYS, SUNSHINE AND WARM!!
WE WERE A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED IN THE WEATHER AT PADRE, THE WIND NEVER QUITS BLOWING, BUT WE WERE HAPPY TO BE BY THE BEACH!
WE WASHED THE SAND AND SALT WATER OFF GUSTO AND DUALLY AND HEADED INLAND 30 MILES TO FIG TREE RV PARK FOR ANOTHER MONTH IN TEXAS.
