LAKE HAVASU CITY & MESA, AZ.

We drove a short way and we were back in Arizona.

Out in the middle of this desert is Lake Havasu, a large reservois behind Parker Dam on the Colorado River, on the border between California and Arizona.

We found  Campbell Cove RV Resort, we were not impressed, the sites are very close. It was a good central location though.

We were glad we were only staying two nights.

You could see the lake from the RV  resort.

The  next morning Darrell got a haircut, we went home for lunch and then went to see London Bridge.
London Bridge is a bridge in Lake Havasu City. It was built in the 1830s and formerly spanned the River Thames in London, England. It was dismantled in 1967 and relocated to Arizona.

We walked across the Bridge.

We enjoyed Lake Havasu City and London Bridge and would like to come back here, but stay at a nicer RV Park.  With our vacation over, we headed to Mesa, it was October 30. We drove through Parker, Lake Havasu keeps going on and on.

We were nearing Phoenix/Mesa area, the highway department has such a sense of humor.

It says....MUMMY KNOWS BEST WRAP YOURSELF IN A SEAT BELT!!
We were back in the Big City.

After three weeks of traveling and exploring,  we were back in Mesa at Sun Life.

It felt good to be back to our winter home.

LODI, BAKERSFIELD

When we stayed here before we were in a hurry, we were looking forward to exploring this area a little more, we would be here two days.

The next day we drove to downtown Lodi.

It's a quaint little town.

It has a really cute Post Office!

It was closed!!

I am missing my light weight jacket and realized I must have left it in Redding when we went shopping. We stopped at Penney's and bought me a new one. Then, had a wonderful meal at a quaint Mexican restaurant. On the way home we stopped at a Farmer's Market we had visited when we were here before. They were having a pumpkin festival!

We got our "Pumpkin Fix".
This is wine country!

The next day we left for Bakersfield, we would be there four days, we've never stayed there, just driven through.

You could tell on the drive in there is an ongoing  drought here!

I thought this sign said it all! It says," NO WATER VALLEY FARMS NO JOBS

Bakersfield RV Resort was very nice!

We had a nice RV sport with grass!

We took Maggie and Marlee down to the blowups to get a Halloween picture.

They were really happy about it!
We enjoyed the hot tub at the Park every night.
We found a small grooming shop that shortened M and M's nails, they were thrilled about that too!
One afternoon we went to the movie, The Accountant.
Another afternoon we drove out to California Fruit and Nut Company.

We bought dried pineapple and raisins and the lady gave Darrell some oranges. It was all delicious.
We drove by this RV park on the way to the fruit and nut company.

We have been told about this RV park by a lot of RVers. This is an  orange grove with RV sites and you can pick all the oranges you want!!
Our vacation was almost over...only two more stops and we would be in Mesa for the winter. The next day we drove to Barstow/Calico KOA in Yermo. I was surprised at what a nice RV Park it is.

We only stayed one night.

We are headed to Lake Havasu City to a Passport America Park for two nights.
