OUR DAY IN SEATTLE

IT WAS TIME TO LEAVE SEQUIM AND HEAD TO SEATTLE. IT WAS JUST A SHORT DRIVE TO A TOWN CALLED POULSBO. WE LEFT SEQUIM AT 12:30 AND ARRIVED AT EAGLES TREE RV RESORT AT 2:00. THIS RV RESORT WAS CLOSE TO THE FERRY THAT WOULD TAKE US TO SEATTLE THE NEXT DAY.  ONLINE,  I  FOUND A DOG SITTING SERVICE CALLED" MISS BARKS ALOT" AND  HAD MADE ARRANGEMENTS TO MEET SUE SHORTLY AFTER WE ARRIVED. SUE WAS VERY NICE AND WE FELT COMFORTABLE LEAVING M  AND M WITH HER. W GAVE HER A KEY AND SHE WAS  TO LET M AND M OUT A COUPLE OF TIMES DURING THE DAY FOR US.

WE HAD PLANNED ON TAKING THE 8:00 FERRY, BUT WE HADN'T PLANNED ON THE TRAFFIC. WE MISSED THE 8:00 ONE, BUT WE MADE THE 9:00 FERRY. THIS FERRY WAS EVEN LARGER THAN THE ONE IN PORT ANGELES.  IT WAS JUST A SHORT RIDE,   THIS WAS OUR FIRST GLIMPSE OF SEATTLE. ANOTHER  BEAUTIFUL CITY!

WE FOUND A TOURIST INFORMATION BOOTH RIGHT AWAY AND LOOKED AT ALL OUR OPTIONS FOR TOURING  SEATTLE. WE DECIDED WE  WOULD RIDE THE "HOP ON/HOP OFF" BUS.  IT STOPPED AT ALL THE ATTRACTIONS. ONE OF THE BUSES WOULD BE BY HERE SHORTLY OR WE COULD WALK ABOUT FOUR BLOCKS TO BUY OUR TICKETS AND BOARD THE BUS. WE DECIDED TO WALK, IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL DAY AND WE COULD SEE SEATTLE UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL.

WE BOUGHT OUR TICKETS AND HAD A LITTLE TIME BEFORE WE BOARDED  THE BUS, WE  FOUND THIS SEATTLE COFFEE SHOP. I  JUST HAD TO TRY SEATTLE COFFEE!

WE RODE THE BUS THE WHOLE ROUTE AND PLANNED THE PLACES WE WANTED TO STOP AND GET OFF. WE GOT OFF AT THIS COFFEE SHOP AGAIN AND WALKED OVER TO PIKES MARKET. IT WAS ONLY A HALF A BLOCK AWAY.

THIS IS THE  FISH MARKET WHERE THEY  THROW THE FISH.

WE WALKED THROUGH THE MARKET. IT WAS INTERESTING AND HUGE!!!

I BOUGHT A SEATTLE  REFRIGERATOR MAGNET.

BY THEN, WE WERE STARVED!! THERE WAS A  HARD ROCK CAFE VERY CLOSE.
IT WAS DELICIOUS!!
THEN IT WAS TIME  TO RIDE THE MONORAIL.

THE SEATTLE MONORAIL WAS BUILT  FOR THE 1962 SEATTLE WORLD'S FAIR.

THE MONORAIL TOOK US TO THE  SPACE NEEDLE.

WE TOOK A VERY  FAST ELEVATOR TO THE TOP....
THE VIEWS WERE MAGNIFICIENT!!

THIS IS WHERE THE LARGE SHIPS COME IN AND UNLOAD.

WE WERE DISAPPOINTED WE COULD NOT SEE MT. RAINIER.
MT. RAINIER WAS IN THE CLOUDS TODAY.

BUT, WITH TODAY'S TECHNOLOGY, WE WERE ABLE TO GET A PICTURE WITH ALL THE LANDMARKS!

IT WAS A WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL DAY, BUT IT WAS TIME TO HEAD BACK TO THE  FERRY SO WE COULD GET BACK TO THE RV. ON THE WAY BACK,  WE FOUND AN OLD FASHIONED CANDY STORE, SO  DARRELL  WAS HAPPY!!

IT WAS A 30 MINUTE RIDE BACK TO THE TRUCK AND THEN  ANOTHER 15 MINUTES TO THE RV. AND, AGAIN, MAGGIE AND MARLEE WERE GLAD TO SEE US!!
