OUR 50TH AND DOLLYWOOD

WE  MARRIED VERY YOUNG AND WE  HAD NO  IDEA WHAT WE WERE GETTING INTO.  BUT, I'M PROUD TO SAY  LOVE HAS ENDURED!

TWO WINTERS AGO WHEN WE WERE IN HARLINGEN, TEXAS FOR THE WINTER, WE WENT TO AN RV SHOW AND ATTENDED A PROGRAM ON WORKAMPERS WORKING AT DOLLYWOOD. THE DOOR PRIZE WAS TWO TICKETS TO DOLLYWOOD, AND THEY DREW MY NAME!  I DIDN'T THINK WE WOULD PROBABLY EVER USE THEM, BUT I HELD ONTO THEM.
TODAY WE WILL  USE THOSE TICKETS AND GO TO DOLLYWOOD!

WE GOT AN EARLY START TO BEAT THE HEAT.

 THIS  IS DOLLYWOOD'S 30TH YEAR!

THERE ARE ACRES AND  ACRES  OF PARKING LOTS....

.THIS TRAM TOOK US FROM THE PARKING LOT TO THE GATES OF DOLLYWOOD..

BEAUTIFUL GROUNDS AND VERY CLEAN.

THE ONE SHOW WE WANTED TO SEE, IS THE MUSICAL STORY OF DOLLY'S LIFE, IN THE HEARTSONG THEATRE, BUT IT  WASN'T GOING TO BE ON UNTIL 6:30 THAT NIGHT. IT WAS 10:00  IN THE MORNING. WE COULDN'T WAIT THAT LONG!!

WE SAW A REPLICA OF DOLLY'S CHILDHOOD HOME WHERE  SHE LIVED  WITH HER TEN  SIBLINGS.

DOLLY HAD HUMBLE BEGINNINGS.

JUST ONE BEDROOM!

WE RODE A TRAIN RIDE TO SEE ALL THE GROUNDS....IT IS HUGE!

ALL KINDS OF RIDES.....THIS VERY HIGH ROLLER COASTER!

WE BROWSED THROUGH THE LITTLE SHOPS........... WE SAW THIS DOG SHIRT, IT REMINDED US OF MARLEE!

DARRELL BOUGHT A LOAF OF CINNAMON BREAD.

THERE WAS LIVE ENTERTAINMENT......

WE DECIDED WE WANTED TO RIDE ONE RIDE. WE SAT DOWN FOR A QUICK REST AND A LOOK AT THE MAP.

WE CHOSE THE  RAMPAGE, A WATER RIDE IN THE VILLAGE OF GEYSER GULCH.

WE GOT IN LINE AND WAITED OUR TURN, IT DIDN'T TAKE VERY LONG.

IT WAS FUN! DARRELL GOT SOAKED!!

IT WAS TIME TO GO.....WE STOPPED IN AND BOUGHT A FEW SOUVENIRS.

WE HAD A NICE ANNIVERSARY STEAK  DINNER  AT TEXAS ROADHOUSE.  IT HAD BEEN A FABULOUS DAY!!
