We drove right past Multnomah Falls, we will be in Portland the whole week, we plan on visiting, hopefully on a nicer day!
It had quit raining by the time we reached Jantzen Beach RV Resort.
We had a nice RV site. It was quiet and convenient.
The next day we had lunch with Jan and Stan, our Workamper buddies we met in Westport, Wa. in 2013. We have had the opportunity to visit them on the road about once a year.
This sign tickled us!
The next day we went to Multnomah Falls. It was cold, windy and rainy! All of that didn't hide the beauty!
This bridge is featured in photos worldwide. That's me in the middle of the bridge.
What a lovely place this is!! So happy we got to see it!
We found a Hop-on-Hop off Portland Downtown Trolley Tour online for the next day and even though Jantzen Beach RV Resort is the closest RV park to downtown, it took a bit to get there. We walked over to a shopping center near us and took a bus.
We rode that bus to a light rail station and had just a short wait......Here it comes!
Then after a short walk we found the Pink Trolley Tour.
Darrell walked across the street and got our tickets.
The Trolley stops at 14 different stops.
We got off at Washington Park.
We wanted to visit the Rose Garden here. As we got off the trolley the driver pointed out the view here, which is one that is seldom seen because of the clouds. A perfect view of Mt. Hood .
The Rose Garden is above Portland....you would never know you were in a large city up here.
I took the time to smell the roses!
As we were leaving, we noticed this sign.
We quickly realized with 14 stops we weren't going to have enough time to get off at every stop. You stop for an hour and we knew we couldn't leave Maggie and Marlee that long. We got back on the trolley, we were back in the city. We just rode for a while and saw the city.
The Pearl District.......
It was a beautiful day in Portland, but the folks on the trolley and the trolley driver said this was going to be the last nice day for quite a while. Rain was in the forecast. Their rainy season was upon us!
The River Waterfront was coming up, we were hungry, so we decided to get off again.
After getting back on the trolley and checking the time we knew it was time to head back to the RV.
We realized you need at least two days to see downtown Portland, but we didn't want to see it in the rain. Today is also Maggie's 13th birthday......we had to get home to celebrate!
We listened to the weather that evening, they are calling for not just one storm......three for the weekend. It didn't sound good......the next day it rained hard all day. The Oregon Coast was predicted to get hurricane force winds and flooding. We cancelled our reservations for the Coast and decided to go inland. There was going to be a little reprieve between the first and second storm, so we decided to see if Seven Feathers Casino RV Resort in Canyonville, had any empty spots.....What luck! They had one pull thru site left! We took it and left Portland on Friday. It wasn't raining or blowing....we got lucky!!
