We love this little RV Park right on the Columbia River, nestled in amongst the Peach Trees.
It was cloudy, cool and spitting rain when we arrived.
We have a lovely pull-thru site.
We are one of three guests staying here this weekend.
And the Columbia River was right there.
Right through this little opening was the Peach Orchard.
Lots of trees!
I wanted to go to the Goldendale Observatory to look at the stars, but according to the online information, it was too cloudy. It was still spitting rain by evening.
The next morning we headed out to see the Maryhill Stonehenge!
It is a replica of the actual Stonehenge in England, built by Sam Hill, an entrepreneur, as a tribute to the fallen soldiers of Klickitat County, Washington who lost their lives in World War I. We weren't far away, we could see it off in a distance as we were driving up the hill.
Sam Hill had the structure built of solid reinforced concrete and dedicated it in 1918.
It is a full-size astronomically-aligned replica of Stonehenge.
And what a View!
I was so surprised to see Mount Hood peaking out from the clouds!
Some nice men offered to take our picture out on this rock.
We took a few more pics.
And then headed off to find Goldendale Observatory.

It was closed!
They are having a program at 6 o'clock tonight, weather permitting.
I have always wanted to visit The Dalles, a town just a few miles away, we decided to drive over and have lunch.
I had Yummy French Onion Soup.
Darrell had a French Dip Sandwich......so delicious!
The weather was clear all day, but by 6:00 the clouds had moved back in and sorry to say.... no star gazing tonight!!
The next morning we packed up and headed to Portland, but first I had to have a picture of the view out my door. I never want to forget it!
