LABOR DAY WEEKEND SALE

With the house being sold, in only 37 days, and  possession set for " On or Before September 16" we had our  15th  rummage sale on Labor Day Weekend. We advertised it as our "Pre-Moving Sale".

We filled up all the tables again, and with Clint and Nikki's help we moved furniture from the house to the attached garage. So, we had two garages full!   Is it ever going to end????

We were very busy, and sold alot  of the furniture and quite a bit of the rummage  in the lower garage. We even filled up the yard again!

Even though we hadn't advertised to be open Sunday, we decided if we could get a few more items sold, it would make it easier when we moved. We did OK Sunday, and we were glad we had made that decision.
One more to go!

NUMBER 14 RUMMAGE SALE

On Saturday, August 27, from 8:00 to 3:00, we held our 14th. rummage sale in the big detached garage, and a few items placed on the lawn.We  rented 6 tables from the Community Hall, and with Clint and Nikki's help on Friday afternoon, we got set up for the sale. As always, we had more "stuff" than we thought we had.
Customers started arriving by 7:30 and we had a steady stream of people all day long. We sold alot of "stuff", $400 worth, and started taking tables down by early afternoon.

It was a beautiful day for a rummage sale, and we got to visit with quite a few of our "regular customers", I told  a few of the  folks that we plan on having another sale on Saturday, September 3 and the following Saturday, September 10, and told them there would be furniture. Several were interested, and I  brought them inside for a "preview". We were happy and tired by 3,took the rest of the day off.

KAHLER PRUDENTIAL REALTORS

After interviewing a couple of realty companies, we decided to list the house with Kahler Prudential. Jeremy Kahler called us about listing the house and we found him to be a true professional. Jeremy came out took pictures and video and we are very impressed!

Jeremy has done everything he said he would do and he is always on time when he makes an appointment with you. Prudential Realty keeps you informed online how many folks are looking at your website, which is very encouraging. They showed the house  a couple of days after listing and sent feedback online to say how the showing went.

I was so impressed with this sign that Jeremy made for us!!  What a Guy! So far, I am very impressed with Kahler Prudential and hope they can get the job done!

HOUSE IS ON THE MARKET!!!

Finally, what we have been working towards for 2 1/2 years, all the projects are done, the list has been completed,  we've decluttered, painted, fixed, replaced, cleaned,  we feel we have done everything we can do to get the house sold. Everything looks beautiful and clean inside and out. We have a Web site for people to look at pictures of the house and  information sheets available on this huge sign. And we feel confident the house will sell. May the force be with us!!  We are so looking forward to our "new life"! Can't wait for it to start!!

NUMBER 13 RUMMAGE SALE

On May 7, 2011 the annual Rockerville Community Club rummage sale was held. We rented two tables, this was our 13th rummage sale since downsizing, the fourth for the year.

We loved our corner up on the stage, and we ended up with 3 tables plus a couple of card tables. We brought alot of "stuff" to sell, but unfortunately, we didn't have the usual crowd.  For once, our items weren't the"hot" items, Darrell brought alot of tools, building materials, and we had mostly women who weren't interested in the tools.

There were 12 vendors in all, and we all had ample space. There was a variety of merchandise, I sold quite a few extra dishes and glassware that I wanted  to find homes for. Sold a few pictures, was not able to find homes for my seasonal boxes of " stuff", which I was so hoping to rid of.

Our total sales were $118.50, which is the least we have ever done out of the 13 sales, which was a disappointment, but let me tell you, the food made up for it. The Rockerville Community Club members served  caramel rolls and coffee for breakfast and bar-b-ques and hot dogs for lunch, and dessert was any pie you can imagine....and it was so delicious. The food made up for the small crowd, and of course, I had to sample everything......not so good for the diet, but boy was it fun!

The sale ended at 2:00, and there was still a little of the day left after packing it all up and putting it away. After getting home and reading the paper we understood why we had such a small crowd, the paper was full of rummage sales, they had no need to drive the 12 miles, but the Community Hall was able to raise around $300.00 for the upkeep and repair of the Community Hall, which is a good thing. And did I mention the food was so Yummy!!!

RUMMAGE SALE NUMBER 12

On Saturday, April 9,2011, we had our 12th rummage sale, the third for the year. Rachelle and Donna went in with us and it was another huge success.  Keystone had their community wide sale that day, and although it wasn't that great a day for weather, we all did very well.

We had alot of people come through, at times the parking lot was full of cars and  there were traffic jams. We sold alot of "stuff", we had alot of our "regulars" and alot of new faces too. Rachelle brought quite a load out and was happy with what she was able to sell.

Donna brought a pickup load and she was able to sell a few big items. She was happy with what she was able to sell also, and took alot less "stuff" home.

We were still amazed after we set it up how much stuff we still have to sell, this being our 12th rummage sale in 2 1/2 years.

We all agreed the Rockerville Community Hall is a wonderful place to have rummage sales and the girls thought they would want to rent it themselves sometime. We took a lot less "stuff" home, which we were very happy about, our grand total sales was $685.00, which is the best one yet for us!!

It was alot of work, but we met alot of nice people and it was fun spending the day with the girls, visiting, laughing and catching up. Our next one will be the first Saturday in May, which will be the community wide one. It will be fun, yummy  cinnamon rolls and lunch!  We have rented two tables, so we're hoping we sell alot of stuff. I'm already  deciding what we will take over, it will be Saturday, May 7, and it's always a fun time!.

RUMMAGE SALE NUMBER 11

On Saturday, March 26, we held our eleventh rummage sale since we began planning to become fulltime Rvers, the second for the year. We had it at the Rockerville Community Hall, where we've had quite a few other ones.  We weren't able to set up Friday evening  until 10:30, as there was another activity going on that evening. It was snowing while we were setting up, but we hoped by morning, the weather would improve. We didn't get to bed until 1:00 a.m. and up by 5:30. The snow had quit, but there were a couple inches on the ground, and it was foggy and cloudy. It looked pretty bleak!

Folks started arriving about 7:30, and we had a steady business until about 10. These were the "Die Hard" rummage sale folks, they kept saying how slippery the roads were and how poor the visibility was.

We were very grateful to the folks who did come out for the sale. Several of our neighbors came and bought "stuff". One neighbor bought all of Darrell's archery equipment, we sold some tools and some seasonal items.

We are still surprised when we set up that we still have this much "stuff".

Granddaughter Kelsea came for the weekend and to help Grandma and Grandpa, and she was a big help  both with setting up the night before and the day of the sale. She loves to price "stuff " and make change. She also likes to count money.....maybe she'll be an accountant!

The weather never improved, and after 10 o'clock, we just had a few people, we were very surprised, though, when we counted the money, we had made $456.70, eleven dollars more than we had made a year ago and the weather was really nice. We packed up alot of "stuff" and made plans for our next one, which will be Saturday, April 9, and we are really hoping for a nice day!
